Annual Report on Parish Activities

and Stewardship of its Resources

Church of St. William the Abbot

Seaford, New York

September 1, 2009 – August 31, 2010

Dear Parishioners:

When this Annual Report was presented last year, it included not only the Spiritual and Financial Reports of the parish but also a brief updating on several projects

(e.g., the new garage, the renovated St. Joseph Chapel, and the new lighting in the cafeteria) that had been completed with funds from the recent capital campaign.

This year the capital improvements to our parish’s buildings and grounds have included minor improvements to our buildings (e.g. the fire alarm system in the church) and the

changes in the gardens around the church and the school.

Our buildings and grounds are just aids to help us in our spiritual and pastoral mission as a parish. The included Spiritual Report and the snapshots below remind us that the

work of this very large and busy parish goes on every day in a variety of ways. Nevertheless, even these small samples show us that the strength of any parish is found in its

parishioners who by their involvement execute the ministries of teaching, healing, and sanctifying, and by their donations provide the money to pay the bills.

Concerning our parish’s income and expenses, you will see from the Financial Report that we finished the past fiscal year in the black. Our investment income gives us a

surplus for unexpected expenses, but because of declining collections and rising expenses, the parish’s Finance Committee and I must be careful with the parish’s money.

I hope that this brief survey gives you a sense that many good things happen at St. William’s because of your involvement. I thank you – the parishioners, the Pastoral Staff,

and the Support Staff – for all your work and generosity over the past twelve months, and I pray that God will continue to bless our parish.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

Fr. Bob Hayden
